NAP US sale victim

I've slowly realised my default blog posts relate to fashion and spending money.  Because I've ALWAYS bought something since my last shopping post.  Gosh.

I can't resist a net-a-porter sale.  I just can't.

Karl Lagerfield April skinny pants and blazer - I hope IT38 fits me otherwise this pant suit will have to go back :(
J Crew tee

J Brand cotton twill pants - I have these in white and they are super comfy
Alexander McQueen leather razor wrap bracelet

Repetto Cendrillon ballet flats - I've heard Repetto is great for wide feet so I'll give them a go.  They look very similar to Bloch ballet flats, yes?

Victim of the NAP sale

I have spent some dollars lately with Net-A-Porter APAC.  I decided I would venture into designer clothes (especially for work) and cut back on the cheap Asos stuff that only lasts a season or two.

Diane von Furstenberg silk-chiffon blouse
J Brand white skinny pants
Karl Lagerfield leather mini
Alexander McQueen peplum top
Michael Kors shirt dress
And some lingerie for good measure

Elle Macpherson
Stella McCartney
These things are going back as they don't fit :(

Michael Kors leather booties
Collette Dinnigan top

Price Discrimination?

I read an article in the Sydney Morning Herald a few years ago.  It basically said some online retailers were trying to charge different amounts for the same item depending on where you live.  The theory was the suburb you live in dictates how much money you earn which in turn dictates how much you should pay for goods.  (On a side note, if they are going to discriminate against where people live, can we talk about discriminating against size??  My size 5 feet and size I-J fingers require much less leather/gold than bigger sizes yet I pay the same price.  I'm not saying we should start discriminating based on the size of an item but isn't discriminating against a consumer's postal code the same theory??).  Anyway I found it absurd at the time and thought nothing of it again.  Until today.

I was browsing the Louboutin sale on the Outnet on my phone last night (don't bother - not worth it).  Then today I thought I'd have another look just in case they added more stock (wishful thinking, right?).  I saw a pair of flats for £217 which I could swear I had seen for £250 the night before.  Clearly I've lost my mind and the lack of sleep is getting to me.  Then tonight upon coming home to an empty apartment and wanting some retail therapy after an obscene day I decided to have ANOTHER look at the Outnet (obsessive!).  Aaaand guess what - they were suddenly £250 again!

Not believing my eyes, I sent my sister the URL for the flats and asked her what price they were.  £217 she says.  Send me a screenshot I tell her.  So here you go, my sister can buy these flats for £217 but I have to pay £250 for them.

Have you experienced this before?  Have I been paying more for months?  Years??!

Ksubi for Target kids range

I am not at all ashamed to say I sometimes shop in the kiddies section of Target.  Actually, I feel like a bit of a creep wandering the aisles of the kids section with no kids in tow.... I just pretend I'm buying for the make-believe kids I don't have....

In actual fact, I find kids sizing better for me since most of the time Target and Kmart don't go down to a size 6.  I'm generally a womens 6 in bottoms and womens 6-8 in tops, and I wear a girls 12 in bottoms and girls 12-14 in tops.

I'd wanted to have a look at Ksubi for Target kids range when it first came out but it wasn't available at my local Target so I kinda forgot about it... until I was on the Target website looking at their below cost sale and stumbled across Ksubi for Target ON SALE.  Hooray!

I picked all these up for $33.35

Black Drip Print Tank by ksubi Kid For Target - $3.84

Foil Denim Mini Skirt by ksubi Kid For Target - $13.14*

Re-Hash Jeans by ksubi Kid For Target - $16.37*

* these 2 items have actually dropped to $4.83 each since I bought them

Best of all is they have a Click + Collect facility where you buy online and save shipping costs by picking up from your nominated Target - brilliant.  Picked up my parcel today and tried the items on.

They are much thinner than normal Ksubi quality, but for these ridiculous prices I'm not about to complain.  I got a size 14 tank top and as you can see it's too big.  I really like the fit of the jeans and skirt though. I could have possibly gone down to a size 10 jeans and skirt but I'd rather be comfy.

All prices for the Ksubi for Target range are down to $4.83 or less so if you're a size 6-possibly 10 you might be interested!

SALE: Forever New, Priceline, Peter Alexander, Forcast, Target, Saba, Pilgrim, Glassons

Oh my gosh Australia has suddenly exploded with a million sales going on...

Forever New has 24% off storewide (including sale items) til 6pm today.  Get on it.  I did - this was the result:

I know there's an unusually high number of black items, especially for me!

If you haven't heard about the Priceline sale, you might be living under a rock with no access to the world wide webs.  It's 40% off ALL cosmetics.  Cr-zazy.  I was restrained.

My HG top coat, Essence peach glitter nail polish for one dollar something, L'Oreal bright pink gloss to replace my current one which is old, and also bought an Australis Glitter polish yesterday

Peter Alexander has 40% off selected items, ends 7pm tonight.

Forcast has an extra 40% off sale items.  Prices as marked.

Von Follies (Dita Von Teese's line) at Target is all at least half price.  I didn't buy anything because frankly I don't need anymore underwear and I rarely never wear nice/fancy lingerie these days - it's all about comfort and cotton for me!!

In the spirit of Anzac Day, Asos has 20% off storewide with the code TWOUP.  Get on that stat.

Harrods is having 10% off storewide this weekend if you are a Harrods Rewards member.  Free to sign up.

30% off storewide at Saba.  Nothing left in my size :(

Pilgrim has a further 30% off sale items ending tonight.

and lastly 20% off storewide at Glassons.  They also have $50 off coats and a sale section like everyone else.

YSL Arty ring overdose

I've heard reports of the Arty ring being discontinued.  I've also heard reports that they are not.  Does the rebranding of YSL to Saint Laurent Paris have anything to do with it?  Regardless, I decided to finally get me one of these after months years of umm-ing and ahh-ing.

I picked one up at UK retail off NAP.  The next morning they had all these Arty rings at 50% off.  Annoyed.  Anyway, I finally received them all and played around with them last night.  I would say they are TTS.  I bought some size 4s and some size 5s as I'm in between 4 and 5 (which is about a J-K) in normal rings, and as expected I am between sizes in the YSL Arty.

I'm not sure what the official colours are called because NAP doesn't call them anything....  Arty experts help me out!

Please let me know which colours you like the best.  I don't think I'll keep all of them as 6 is a tad bit excessive.

This is quickly turning into a shopping blog

I'm materialistic.

There I said it.  I love shoes, and to a lesser extent bags.  I get distracted by sales and sparkly things.  I work to earn money to live a life that I want to live, which includes shopping and eating nice food and travelling overseas every year.  I also value immaterial things such as spending time with my family (I make an effort to see them twice a week and almost always over for Sunday dinner), and hanging out with friends and spending time with my other half.  I also have no children or husband to support (yet).  I already own property and whilst I have a mortgage to pay off, I also have rental income.  But yes I do also pay rent.  And I do love to shop.

The Vogue Forums are really good at helping me spend money.  I found out about the ridiculously cheap Missoni scarf from Stacey which I blogged about a few days ago, then I found out the NAP sale was reduced further and being the inquisitive person I am, jumped on to see what had been reduced further.

Only 10 minutes and $1000 later......  I am the owner of the following:

Giuseppe Zanotti swarovski crystal-embellished suede sandals

Marc by Marc Jacobs sequinned leather ankle boots

YSL Arty ring in blue

Both pairs of shoes were 70% off - the Giuseppe Zanottis were £334.50 (A$501) down from £1115 (A$1,671) and the Marc Jacobs booties were £98.75 (A$148 - you'd be lucky to get Tony Bianco booties at that price!) down from £329.17 (A$494).  The YSL ring was retail at £158.33 (AUD$236) which is still cheaper than the Aussie RRP at AUD$295.

These are the items I did NOT buy (to show you that I do *sometimes* exercise self-control):

Miu Miu Glitter-finish leather ankle boots

Christian Louboutin Pigalle 100 nude

J Crew Tipped Wool Peacoat (only because they don't have my size)

Did you pick up anything from the NAP sale?

Ok I promise my next few posts will not be shopping-related!
