It's my Birthday and I'll cry if I want to

Well I didn't cry.  But I could've.  If I wanted to.  Because it was my Birthday.

I had a great day and spent time with most of the important people in my life.  My birthday always makes me realise how lucky I am to be surrounded by people who I love and who love and care for me.

Had breakfast with my boyfriend and our flatmate in Neutral Bay.  I just love Chaos Cafe - we always get great service there and the food is fantastic, especially for the price (especially being lower North Shore).  There was an adorable 2 year old at the table next to ours and she decided she would give me stickers, then proceeded to take them all back haha.  Then as we left her Mum told her to give me one back, so she did smilingly.  Adorable.

I wore my new shoes that Tom bought me for my birthday.  The boy has good taste.

He also got me another little surprise - a book about the history and construction of shoes.  There's a section on prominent footwear designers and before I even said anything, he said "Don't worry, I checked and Mr Louboutin features in there" hahaa

Last night we headed to Stitch Bar for a few drinks and a feed.   I wore a Forever New dress, Louboutin No Prives in Jade Patent, Chanel double flap, 2 Arty rings and a whole heap of random gold costume jewelry (please disregard the horrendously dirty mirror).

Was so good to see all my friends (some of whom I haven't seen in close to 2 years).  Stitch Bar was also great - excited by the retro sewing machines everywhere (I feel like I'm the only person under 30 who can sew and thus gets excited by sewing machines) and the staff were great and accommodating.  Apologies in advance for the cropping - I don't want to violate my friends' privacy by posting pics of them publicly but I also know this detracts from blogposts.  Any tips on how to maintain a balance?

Mixture of uni friends, highschool friends, and those friends where you can't remember how you met them but it's now a decade later and all you know is you're just friends

Me and my sisters - #3, #2, moi (#1), #4

Am having dinner out with my family tonight which I'm looking forward to.  In the meantime, it's back to the books to study for my exam on Wednesday.

Kay's Louboutin Family

I finally got around to taking family photos of my Louboutin family so here they are.

This is my collection as of 31st December 2012.  I plan on taking family pics periodically to see what I've acquired/gotten rid of since the last photo.  Thanks for letting me share!

Louboutin #6 - Numero (No) Prive in Jade Patent

The Prives (Very, No, Hyper) come from the same family but are all slightly different.  No Prives are the slingback version to the Very Prives.  I'm not usually a fan of slingbacks (my skinny heel makes it difficult for slingbacks to stay up) but I absolutely love this colour and when I found a pair of shoes in jade patent in my size, I HAD to get them.

I got them from a boutique in Italy and it was the fastest postage ever.  They posted the shoes on a Monday and arrived in my hands 3 days later.  I got them TTS (35.5) and they're a perfect fit!  It made me realise I should probably be buying more shoes TTS instead of 1/2 size up.

It's quite tricky to photograph the shoes capturing the exact colour it is, as it invariably turns out too blue.  The pic that best captures the exact shade is below:

T2 Tea Society and a colourful outfit

T2 has a Tea Society which is free to join, and you get a cool card like this:

You accumulate points every time you make a purchase much like fly buys.  There are different tiers of membership based on how much you spend - I'm on the most basic one because I only just signed up.  Periodically they hold VIP events at one of their stores in NSW, VIC and QLD (I think the other states miss out unfortunately).

I went to 'a must-do Spring Thing' this morning at the QVB store at SEVEN THIRTY AM.  Well.... being the morning person I'm NOT, I rocked up closer to 8...  which is already an accomplishment in itself, trust me.

There was a demonstration on making iced tea with various teas and fruits, and she answered questions people had.  After the demonstration you could roam around eating some yummy scones with T2 jams and honey, and there were also fruit platters.  There were pitchers of various types of iced tea around, and there was even a pot of hot tea with milk for people like me who need a morning hit of caffeine.

There was an abundance of helpful staff around, pouring tea and answering any questions you had.

I bought a tea strainer as my current one I also got from T2 is made of this rubbery thing and is a bit of a pain in the you know what to use and clean.  On the advice of one of the staff I bought this one:

No fuss she says.  I hope so.

After I made my purchase, they handed me another bag full of goodies.

The goodie bag contained more than I had bought!

Thanks T2!

On a fashion-related note, I'm accidentally matching the T2 orange today.

Asos linen 3/4 sleeve orange blazer, Supre white frill tank, Nudie Tight Long Johns in Flat Blue, Christian Louboutin Numero Prive in Jade Patent

Colourful accessories day:  Rimmel 60 Seconds in Funtime Fuchsia, yellow diamond cocktail ring (not real yellow diamond haha I wish!), Louboutin No Prives, Mimco bow acetate cuff, T&Co midnight titanium band
I'm VERY colourful today.  I think I'm trying to compensate for yesterday being such an awful day (incompetent people, lazy people, food poisoning, bleurgh).

Going for drinks tonight at Ambar at MLC Centre, and then watching Taken 2 on Extreme Screen at Chatswood later.

Are you having a fun Friday?  What have you got planned?
