My "weekend" started on Friday. I enjoyed a nice catchup lunch with some ex-work colleagues at Chinta Ria in Darling Harbour. It ended up being a beautifully sunny day.
Saturday was my errand day, I went to the RTA (or RMS??) to have them check my e-tag. It didn't been beeping when I went over the Harbour Bridge, but it was deducting the toll from my account. The rude man at the RTA claimed they had emailed me saying from 1st July some older e-tags would no longer work and that because my e-tag hadn't been beeping, they had deducted an extra 55c every time I crossed the bridge (every day btw). Couldn't even be bothered arguing with him even though I did NOT receive such an email.
Wouldn't mind that pink number plate second from bottom |
I also wandered up to David Jones and took advantage of their 'extra 25% off' sale with 2 Minkpink skirts. Got both of these for $33 - I call that cray.
I'd invited my friend and her new fiance over for dinner on Saturday so spent a few hours (yes hours I'm ashamed to say) making pasta from scratch. Since I'd never attempted pasta before, I decided to make a small batch first to 'test' the process out. I'm SO glad I did. I knew the dough was too dry but I persisted with it and tried to roll it in the machine. Because the machine was brand new, the sides of the dough came out black. I just kept passing the dough through until the sides stopped coming out black and that's when I started on my real batch.
and with a quick 10-minute vodka sauce....
GAH so yummy!!
My friends brought over an assortment of delicious desserts - jealous??
On Sunday I attended a Sydney Louboutin Lovers meet. We had a lovely High Tea and then a wander of the shops (Louboutin boutique of course). I wore an Asos dress, my CL multi rasta Greissimos, Diva necklace, eQuip bracelet and YSL Arty.
Hi A, C and E!!
Aaaand now it's another week at work. I can't believe it's only Tuesday night, I've had a realllly hectic couple of days already.
Haha a louboutin lover day out. That is hilarious. How do you find such a group and did you just talk about shoes?
ReplyDeleteNo we talked about intellectual things such as working in the finance industry, completing Law degrees and being poached by Google

ReplyDeleteLook at you go making pasta from scratch.. I would have no hope! haha x
I love the skirts, such a steal for only $30!
Homemade pasta making was heaps of fun though!!
DeleteLoooove those skirts too, lucky for my wallet i wasn't able to find time to have a look at the sale!
ReplyDeleteI tried to wear one this morning but it was too short for work :S Going into the "weekend only" wardrobe :(
DeleteWhat??? How come I didn't hear about this CL lovers day out? And in Sydney too? Totally missed out! ;)
ReplyDeleteI would love to attend the CL lovers day out. And be poached by Google too.. if you're reading. I'm available and ready to mingle :)
ReplyDeleteLove a good pasta that is home made. Seriously LOVE. And Mick has neglected our pasta making, the machine has not been touched since 2 years ago! Now that you have started you'll love making ravioli! And your skirts look amazing. I can never find anything in DJs ... i'm such a loser.
I spent HOURS digging through the racks at DJs looking for stuff to buy. I freaking love ravioli, when I get some time that is next on my list!
DeleteGah...loved stalking your weekend! Laksa, high tea... yum, but your homemade pasta is my dream, Mr HEA wont let me buy a pasta maker. :(
ReplyDeletelovely skirts too for a bargain!
The pasta maker was only $30 from Aldi!!! And it doesn't take up that much room. I'm sure both of those are legitimate reasons to buy a pasta maker??
