NYE 2013 at Opera Bar

Bit late I know but I STILL don't have internet at home :(

I was at Opera bar for NYE last year as Tom's band was playing there leading up to the midnight fireworks.  It's an amazing vantage point and nowhere near as crowded as public areas so quite enjoyable.  They had put up a fence thing, blocking half the view of the Harbour Bridge which was a little disappointing, although we had a good view of the fireworks that shot off the Opera House for the first time ever.

The theme was beach party again (I don't think it ever changes) and the setup was very similar to the year before.  Luckily they had a lot more food this year because I think they under-catered last year.  Anyway, enough chatter, here are some pictures.

NYE at Opera Bar!

I'm really not going to talk much in this post, as the pictures speak for themselves really.  Great night, great food, great company, and great view of the most amazing fireworks show in the world.

What are you doing for NYE? I'm going to Opera Bar!!!

Yep, I haven't even thought about Christmas yet, but I already have plans for NYE.  This year I am spending it in the picture below:

... at Opera Bar overlooking the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.  Yes it cost me quite a lot of money and yes I will probably never get over that.  But Tom's band is playing there from 11pm til midnight and I obviously want to spend NYE with my significant other.

The night is being plugged as a "beach party" - what exactly does one wear to a beach party slash nye party that has no sand and no body of water you can jump into without risking catching a few diseases? And do you have plans for NYE or is it only crazy incessant planners like me who have already bought tickets to an event?
