I took an unplanned absence from Mr Louboutin's work for 12 months. I think I reached a point where I felt like I had a good shoe collection (STOP PRESS DID I JUST SAY THAT???!) and didn't need anymore. 'Need' being the operative word; 'want' means something totally different.
So I have a new pair of work shoes. Although it's not a sexy silhouette, this style fits my foot much better than my current black Louboutin work shoes which are mostly unworn due to aforementioned ill-fitting-ness.
I take these half a size down from my TTS and they fit nicely. The tiny platform at the front makes them easier to wear than other styles.

Uniqlo is ONLINE and coming to Sydney!!!
Oh my Lord I am so excited.
I first discovered Uniqlo in New York a few years ago - they had just opened their flagship store on Fifth Ave. I found the perfect pair of work pants and bought TWO. Because in NYC they also take the pants up for you for free. Since then, Uniqlo pants are the only ones I wear regularly to work. I'm also a big fan of their HeatTech range - think thermals but not itchy.
I also picked up a brolly because it was raining that day in New York and we had left the hotel unprepared. This is the best umbrella I have ever bought. It's difficult to explain without pictures but basically it folds in a certain way that you can pop it back into your bag after using it and nothing in your bag gets wet! Genius!!
I visited the Uniqlo popup store in Melbourne earlier this year and picked up some merino wool knits which are superfine and so comfy aaaaaaand Uniqlo is coming to Sydney by the end of this year! They will be at 420 Pitt St and then in mid-City Centre by next year.
Aaaaaand I was on the Uniqlo website this morning as I was writing this post and discovered that their online store is now open. Go forth and shop! I know I did.

Rain rain go away
How depressing was this past weekend in Sydney? Rain, rain, teeny bit of sun, torrential rain. We had made appointments to inspect wedding venues, forcing me to leave the house but I had a bit of house-time on Sunday arvo while Tom played soccer (in the rain).
I baked an impromptu banana bread on Saturday arvo as I had 4 very sad-looking bananas in my fruit bowl. I maxed the banana goodness and minimised the unhealthiness by cutting back the sugar and using half wholemeal flour.
I got a goodie bag from one wedding venue inspection! Hooray for free stuff. The only time I claim asian-ness is when freebies are involved.
What did you do to escape the rain this weekend? Or was it not raining where you live and therefore you could be free and do normal things?

Stuck in a blogging rut.
In the last few weeks I feel like I've lost direction with this blog. I don't know what to write about, I don't know what people care to read about. I know I don't have the same amount of time to think about and devote to this blog so I need your help.
What do you want to read about? Food? Shopping? "This is what I did on the weekend"?

Ramblings of a sick, sleep-deprived office worker
I set my alarm for 6.30am this morning. Probably no biggie for most people but my normal alarm is set for 8.30am. It was struggle street. Purchased a large soy flat white, missed a train, finally got to work, said Hi to the Americans on video conference, bought another large coffee, went to Coles to get stuff for lunch, and back in the office all before 9am.
I had a flu jab yesterday and am being a sookie-lala. My arm hurts. I'm sniffly and tired and my throat is swollen. $10 says I won't last until the 7pm video conference I have to attend tonight.
Been sleeping with the doona the last few nights. It seems autumn has finally arrived in Sydney and I'm loving it. Apart from the rain. Not loving that. Saturday rained nonstop all day, we took cover in a cafe and ended up eating a salted caramel croissant. It was every bit as delicious as it looks/sounds.
Daylight saving has ended; my commute home has become a lot darker. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise and it will make me leave work earlier.
That's all from this sleep-deprived corner of the globe. I promise to be more conscientious soon.

Getting the wedding wheels rolling
Oh gosh, it seems the past fortnight has absolutely whizzed by and I've barely had a chance to breathe. I've been working.... a lot. I've been walking home from work whenever I can and feeling great to be active again.
Aaaand I finally started wedding planning over the weekend! I went wedding dress shopping with my sisters and Mum with no intention of actually buying. I wanted to try on different styles to work out what looked good on my body shape. If you know anything about me you'll know I have no self control when it comes to spending money. 3 hours after I started looking I had bought a dress!!
Unfortunately I won't have it in my hands for a few weeks as they have to alter a size 12 down to a size 6 for me because the shop only sells one-offs. Glad I can tick one thing off the list and not have to worry about it.
Another thing that happened on the weekend was a small engagement party my parents threw for us with my extended family. We ended up with a great deal of fancy champagne and a bright yellow toaster!!
