Polka Dot Obsession

I only recently realised how much of a polka dot lover I am.  I fell in love with the Sass & Bide Torn Apart knit (below left) but despite efforts to locate one in an xs, they seem to be sold out on every boutique that stocks them, not to mention Sass & Bide stores nationally and Myer nationally.  It's not to be.  But I did find a reasonable substitute on Asos (below right)

It got me thinking about all the other polka dot clothing I've bought in the past year.  And there's been many.

Has anyone else OD-ed on polka dots lately?  Or have you been obsessing about something else?

  1. Stripes is to me what polka dots have been to you.
I need to stay away from stripes.
    Too much now.
I might divert attention to dots.

    1. I can't do stripes, way too short. I'd look like the Michelin Man if I tried.

  2. Oh. I commented on here before, and it didn't show up! :(

I love polka dots. My iPad is all spotty, and I've noticed lots of random items which I've got. They're just so cute!

BTW, regarding above comment, you don't look like you could ever look like the Michelin man! x

    1. Haha I am VERY short so ANYTHING that makes me look remotely larger adds 10kgs to my tiny frame!

I used to think polka dots were really childish but I've come to appreciate them. I think they're girly without being overly feminine (like hearts are for example).

    1. I think that's what stripes are for me - I love the look but I just can't pull it off

  6. Yes this season several of my purchases feature polka dots, it's a nice change from the stripes I usually obsess about. Agree they are feminine but not too girly.

    1. I can't wear CR :( Their smallest size is wayyyy too big for me. I hate vanity sizing.

  9. I love the look of polka dots, but not on me. I think it makes me look too cutesy and more young. Love polka dots on you, though! I also love it when others clash their polka dots - I think it's such a quirky look.

  11. I love polka dots too as itś a rather cute take on the other monographic print: stripes. Even though I have more stripes I am also after a cute polka dot jumper so might look at ASOs too. BTW I´m sure I read in franki magazine that polka dots were once associated with evil! Who would have thought?!

    1. Noooooo!! I think polka dots are cutesy and totally not evil at all, how bizarre. The Asos jumper is great but it's a tad too big for me (the xs) so I might chuck them in the dryer to shrink them.
