Vivid Sydney 2014

Crowds are not a good place for short people.  This year I did a cursory walk through Circular Quay but got sick of it very quickly and spent more time in McMahons Points, Kirribilli, and Lavender Bay where there weren't masses and masses of people.

Reckless spending ends now.

Ok.  I have shopped TOO much lately.  I forget I'm meant to be saving for a house/wedding/honeymoon sometimes and get distracted by SALE signs.

I'll be honest, I googled "must stop shopping" and all the pages I read mentioned "cut up your credit card".  What happens if you shop online only and have memorised your credit card details OR can easily put in your paypal password?

So this is what I'm doing:

  1. Delete all 25 of my eBay saved searches
  2. Stop following retailers on Instagram
  3. Stop following retailers on Facebook
  4. Don't talk to work colleague/sisters/fiance about shopping
  5. Go through wardrobe and try to sell some things I don't use/wear
  6. Focus energies elsewhere - work, family, home

Do you have any tips for resisting the urge to shop?  Help me please!!!

Sport overload, sickness, bridesmaids dress shopping

Has anyone else been woken up by a yell from the TV room at an odd hour of the night/morning by a passionate Socceroos supporter?  Two different mornings I awoke to find 3 men sitting in my loungeroom watching the football (don't worry I know them all so no #strangerdanger).

I'm not one to sacrifice sleep for sport, so I'm glad the State of Origin is a local derby.  I didn't think it was a good game, I didn't even really think NSW deserved to win.  But I'm glad they did and in doing so lifted this heavy cloud that sat on NSW shoulders for the past 8 years.

I heard the fireworks that went off after the win and grabbed my camera, ready to run down to the water but the fireworks didn't last long enough for my little legs to get me there :(  So I took a picture of the fireworks on tv.  As you do.

This week I was hit by a wicked cold (further proof that the flu vaccination does nothing).  I trudged along to work every day only to be sent home early on Friday.  An early mark is usually welcomed by me but on Friday the only thing I did was take myself home and to bed.  On Saturday I decided to take myself to my parents' place; my sister is developing a nice collection of succulents which my dog was very inquisitive about.

And today I went bridesmaids dress shopping with my bridesmaids/sisters!

What did you get up to this past week/end?

Priceline skincare goody bag

Isn't it funny how you're willing to spend $65 just to get some freebies?  No?  Just me?

I bought the Skin Physics Derma Sonic (a poor man's Clarisonic) after reading some rave reviews, and with that I got this amazing goody bag:

I think the deal ends today and unfortunately it's all sold out online.

Oh my Lover!

If I didn't already have my wedding dress....

Myer sale, NAP sale, Mimco sale

After the hoo-har about Myer delaying their mid-season sale, they finally went on sale yesterday I think?

I've developed an obsession with seamless underwear after my Mum brought me back a pair from Uniqlo.  So comfy and no visible panty line (not that visible panty line previously bothered me enough to do anything about it).
 Pleasure State bra $41.96

 Pleasure State seamless underwear $13 - $20.96

Picked up these Crocs for $27.99 which is the perfect cross between walking shoe and ballet flat:

I also put another NAP order through (naughty Kay).

 Diane von Furestenberg Lorelai blouse

Tan ankle booties have been on my 'to-buy' list for a while and I found them on sale at Mimco!

 Mimco Diana boots in Cognac

And of course random Mimco cheapies:

What have you bought this sale season?
